Nat Myers, "It Is What It Is" // GemsOnVHS™

GemsOnVHS hasn't had much of the blues on here. If any place outside the Mississippi Delta has a permeating vibe of the blues, it might be the good old American Rust Belt region. If there's ever a perfectly acceptable backdrop for a tune with a bluesy vibe, it might just be the steady flow of a deep grey Ohio river, from the questionably beautiful Covington, Kentucky side. A little rain keeping the mood down? Why not! Everything coalesced to make for a great afternoon with our new friend, Nat Myers, in his old hometown. Me and Nat stomped around in the mud, had us some Waffle House, and shared some songs about that universal truth; it is what it is!

Most of his life now a days revolves around a constant get-up-and-go touring life, playing around the country and meeting all kinds of characters, big and small. Seriously, ask him about meeting Aquaman. We stayed with his parents, a mighty kind arrangement, and his mom cooked us the best dang Korean food we've had since time immemorial. He recently got up with Dan Auerbach in Nashville, and legend has it he is workin' on a new album to top the charts. Best of luck, big dog, and see you out there. PS, stay off twitter!
