A Practical Approach to Complex Long COVID & ME/CFS Patient Cases

Bateman Horne Center and the University of Utah Health Project ECHO teams join forces once again to provide a case-based learning series illuminating strategies for assessment and management of Long COVID (PASC), ME/CFS, and related comorbid conditions.

Patient cases are shared in this session for educational purposes. In some instances, the information does not relate to an individual, and instead represents a compilation of disease presentation. In cases involving individual patient information, the patients have authorized the discussion of their case in this setting.

In this powerful session from the Long COVID and Post-Infectious Syndrome ECHO series, Jennifer Bell, FNP-C at the Bateman Horne Center, walks through three case examples highlighting the multisystem complexities of Long COVID & ME/CFS. She shares how to assess and manage multisystem symptoms—including post-exertional malaise (PEM), dysautonomia, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), and hypermobility/connective tissue disorders—with practical strategies that can be implemented in both primary and specialty care settings.

This session also previews the newly released Clinical Care Guide from BHC, which offers evidence-informed tools and structured approaches for clinicians treating infection-associated chronic conditions.
