Only a few can say they work on every inch of a fighter jet, and as an AM, you’re one of them. Aviation Structural Mechanics maintain and repair everything from the nose of the aircraft, to the landing gear. Once you learn the ropes in the Navy’s aviation mechanic school, you’ll be placed on a ship or in a squadron. Service the hydraulics, test out flight controls, repair the ejection system, and conduct pre-flight inspections.
