About the 1st Bulería Falseta from El Carbonero

In 2001, I had a wonderful opportunity to study flamenco guitar with the legendary teacher Manuel Lozano "El Carbonero." Before he retired, El Carbonero was one of the best know teachers in Jerez; Diego Del Morao was a student. I studied with Manuel two hours a day, five days a week for two months and was able to learn a great deal in a short time.
The focus was on falsetas. I learned dozens of falsetas for a number of important "palos" (forms.) My favorites were the falsetas por Bulerías. These alone taught me a great deal about the importance of syncopation and melodic line in flamenco. This is the first falseta por bulerías he taught me.
I've created a video about each falseta where I take you through a falseta note by note, and two practice tracks for each falseta, at 100 and 150 BMP.
