Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate is my favorite of the series and holds a special place in my heart. Released in 2015, I had just graduated college the year prior and had no idea what I was doing with my life nor where I would end up 10 years later. I feel like this game set the stage for future entries, as World, Rise, and even Wilds has some elements that were first seen in 4 Ultimate. Even Wilds has returning characters that originated in this game.
The grind is slow, I have to smash monsters repeatedly to get decent gear, and there are a lot of monsters to hunt in this game. I’m only doing village quests only until I figure out how to do multiplayer at a later date.
