“ព្រះឥន្ទ្រ”ឬ“ឥន្ទ្រទេព”ឬ“ទេវរាជ ឥន្ទ្រៈ”ទ្រង់គឺជា“អាទិទេពធំបំផុត”មួយព្រះអង្គនៅក្នុងសម័យព្រះវេទរបស់“ព្រហ្មញ្ញសាសនា” តាំងពីមុនពេលកើតឡើងនូវលទ្ធិ“ត្រីមូរតិ”ឬការគោរពបូជាអាទិទេពធំៗទាំងបីគឺព្រះព្រហ្ម ព្រះវិស្ណុ និងព្រះសិវៈម្ល៉េះ។ ព្រះឥន្ទ្រទ្រង់គឺជាអ្នកគ្រប់គ្រងឋានសួគ៌ ជាអ្នកអភិបាលលោក ជាប្រមុខនៃពួកទេវតាទាំងឡាយ ជាអាទិទេពដែលជាប់ទាក់ទងនឹងមេឃា អាកាសធាតុ ផ្លេកបន្ទោរ ផ្គរលាន់ រន្ទះ ខ្យល់ព្យុះ និងទឹកភ្លៀង ឬភាពសម្បូរសប្បាយផ្នែកកសិកម្មដាំដុះ...។នៅក្នុងគម្ពីរ“ឫគ្វេទ”ដែលជាគម្ពីរដ៏ចំណាស់បំផុតក្នុងចំណោមគម្ពីរ“ត្រៃវេទ”បានបញ្ជាក់ថា ព្រះឥន្ទ្រគឺជាអាទិទេពនៃសង្គ្រាម ច្បាំងមិនដែលចាញ់ ជាអាទិទេពអមតៈ ទ្រង់មានឫទ្ធានុភាពខ្លាំងក្លាមហិមា ដោយមាន“វជ្រៈ”ឬ“កាំរន្ទះ” ជាអាវុធពិសេសប្រចាំកាយសម្រាប់វាយប្រហារកម្ចាត់សត្រូវ។
