42 YEARS?! Yes, Pancho has been a shining shoes for 42 years! He told me he is 57 years old. That means he has been a shoe shiner since age 15. His experience shows in his amazing skills. Listen to the squeaks, and his watch his movements. Respect.

I enjoy documenting this often overlooked art of the shoe shine. I am proud of the shoe shiners who are so dedicated to their craft. I have so much respect for them.

Even the local Mexican people overlook this amazing facet of Mexico City, with shoe shines stalls available for 20-25 Pesos. They have told me that these videos helped them to have a newfound respect for the people working shoe shines on the street. I was told that they didn't think it was so interesting before.

Now maybe when you come travel to Mexico City, you will also get your shoes shined. This way we can keep the tradition alive.
