Why is speaking French SO hard? - My thoughts as a non-native speaker living in France

Often speaking French as a new (or new-ish) speaker makes you want to hit your head against something hard (don't do that). So why is speaking French so hard? What makes speaking French so difficult?

I've had some days where I feel like things are flowing - as much as they can for a foreigner still learning - and I feel good! Then plenty of others where the words won't come and I felt like I was wasting the other person's time with my crappy français. Can you relate?

I've been in France for 5 years and learning for 6, so I have a pretty good idea about how to speak French and the reasons why speaking it is hard, and what you can do to make speaking an easier task and make the most progress possible.

In the latest video, I go through some of the top reasons in my opinion, but I'm sure I've not included every possible one.
