In this performance, I take on the formidable aria “Nulla! Silenzio!” from Puccini’s Il Tabarro—a piece soaked in rage, darkness, and masculine desperation. Singing it live for the very first time, I dive deep into the emotional underworld of Michele, a man tormented by betrayal and consumed by violent jealousy.
As a baritone, I feel this role lives in my soul—it’s dramatic, expressive, and sits right in the marrow of my bones. The rage isn’t just performed—it’s felt. I let the music guide me through the storm and offer the audience a glimpse into Michele’s tortured soul.
Performed at the Puccini Gala at the Croatian National Theatre Ivan pl. Zajc in Rijeka, marking the 100th anniversary of the composer’s death.
