wood turning - it's plum wood!! you gotta see this!

Amazing plum wood. Wait til you see the color. This is another of my woodturning ideas on a wood lathe. this is a good project for beginner wood turning.
Do it yourself projects are the best way to learn. I am turning a log to goblet from plum wood on a wood lathe.
I left the log with bark at the bottom for a natural look. the goblet was sanded to 400 grit. I used shellac on the bark and friction polish on the rest. I am happy with how it came out. love the color on this wood.
