Whenever a farmer or applicator makes a pesticide application in California they are subject to hundreds of regulations to make sure that people and the environment are protected.
The job of California Agricultural Commissioners is to make sure that farmers, their employees and applicators are following the law. But things can go wrong, mistakes happen or sometimes people don't follow the law.
California has a process in place that allows for people who live by a farm, work on a farm or pass by a farm to report something they feel is a violation of pesticide laws. Agricultural Commissioners investigate 100 percent of the complaints they receive and if violations are found they take appropriate enforcement actions.
