Hawaii Is Much Bigger Than You Think 🌋 The Secret Hidden Islands 🏝️

When you picture Hawaii, you probably think of the eight main islands: Oahu, Maui, the Big Island, and others 🏝️ But did you know that the Hawaiian archipelago is much larger than what we see on most maps? 🌎 In reality, it includes about 137 volcanic islands and atolls, stretching across nearly 1,600 miles (2,575 km) in the Pacific Ocean! 🌊 Most of Hawaii remains hidden beneath the ocean, shaped by the Hawaiian hotspot, a volcanic source deep beneath the Earth's surface. 🌋 Unlike the Pacific Plate, which drifts northwest over millions of years, the hotspot stays almost stationary. This movement has created the entire Hawaiian island chain, with older islands to the west and younger islands to the east. The Big Island🏝️ is the youngest and still growing! 🌋 Meanwhile, islands like Midway Atoll, one of the oldest.
