Milano 10" Stiletto Swing Guard Switchblade Knife with Kris Blade and Ivory shell wrap Scales

I decided to purchase an inexpensive type of Swing Guard Stiletto Switchblade Knife. This one is a Malano brand. It was only $27 including shipping. But I have to say, it is a nice looking and acting knife!

I am not saying that switchblade knifes that cost several times (or more) what this one cost do not have higher quality or a longer life, but I really like this knife. For a once in a while need to use a knife, it should be fine - better than no knife at all!

I like the size, larger than a 9", but not too big as an 11" (my opinion, I have small hands). The overall quality is good and the opening action and button release is nice, as is the lock - which is not loose. The closing has a nice crisp should as well. The look of the faux ivory scales is also nice - although they are a type of shell wrap, being more of a heat shrink wrap over a wood like material. The blade has a minor amount of wiggle, but not a show stopper. The end of the lower bolster is not even or ground smooth, but again not a big deal - just a lower quality detail. The spring release is a round rod, as opposed to the more expensive custom machined spring in higher priced knives. Maybe not a big deal, but I do not know what alloy is used and don't know of the life cycles - lower or the same as the custom machined springs, just different. The swing guard is also a little loose when both closed and opened. But once again, not a bid deal unless you want the highest quality. The liners are SS, as are some other more expensive brands. I do not see this as a negative. Brass seems to be preferred, however.

So, what a cool looking fun knife as a very low price to carry and have at the ready to use on occasion, if needed. The weight is about right and just a little more than other 9" brands. No sharp edges on the closed knife, to ware out pockets. The blade sharpness is about what these type of knives have - not real sharp but can be sharpened more.
