This partner kicking exercise develops the cross kick to front sweep on the attacking side and the din bo evasive footwork on the defending side. As always, the cat stance ready position trains strong legs and balance and preparedness for countering with kicks on the defense.
Practiced without a partner you can kick your own hand for co-ordination and focus practice on the attacking side cross kick (as done in this video).
When practiced together with a partner, sweep for your partner's front leg on offense, on the defense side wait and react to the sweeping technique - never pre-empt the movement, to train better reflexes. Defense side jumps away towards the 4 o'clock position to the cat stance (not filmed here for focus reasons).
