Designing a Custom Modern Home - Episode 01 - Site Analysis

This is a new series where I will be taking you through the design of a custom modern home. In episode 01 I am looking at the preliminary site analysis. The goal of the site analysis is to understand the constraints and the opportunities of the site as well as to explore the environmental conditions.

Design is an iterative and cyclical process where the exploration of one aspect of the home informs and alters the others. In this early analysis phase I am not making any decisions, nor am I designing any part of the home, I am simply gaining a better understanding of the space that I will be working in as well as setting up some criteria for the next steps.
