The Snowmen are a classic country/early rock band originating in Northwest Minnesota. The band consists of friends who had played together off and on in various groups prior to their forming in the early 2000s. Tim Johnson, the lead vocalist, doubles on rhythm and steel guitar, is from Fosston where he manages the hardware store. Steve Rasmusson, vocals, lead guitar and keys, lives in Lengby and works at the Fosston hospital. Mark Hicks, vocals and lead guitar, is a voiceover artist and retired disk jockey from Bemidji. Drummer Dave Natwick, a retired rural mail carrier from Winger, also adds vocals. Rounding out the group is retired luthier, Chuck McCalip from Bemidj, who cut his teeth on bass in the clubs on Panama City Beach, Florida. Together, they form the area’s premier band, with a play list of close to 400 danceable songs. Video by Mike McCalip.
