A man-made river carved into sheer cliffs! The Red Flag Canal, witnessing the human will to conquer nature. Standing by the canal, the sense of awe is overwhelming!
Geese Fly South · Day 6, we arrived at a place full of power and miracles: the Red Flag Canal.
This hydraulic project, known as the "man-made river in the sky," was literally carved by human hands into the cliffs of the Taihang Mountains. When you stand by the canal and watch the clear water flow along the mountainside, you realize it's more than just an irrigation ditch—it's a monument to the spirit of self-reliance and arduous struggle.
Witnessing this magnificent engineering feat and feeling the determination of the workers who transformed the mountains is the best kind of spiritual cleansing on a long road trip. Tomorrow, we continue our drive towards the warmth!
