Mount Edith (3 Peak Scramble)

Magnus, Aibert & I set out to scramble all three peaks of Mount Edith. There was little wildfire smoke & the weather was cool after a heat wave that lasted for a few weeks. We headed up Cory Pass on a perfect trail, had a nice nice break up at the gargoyles before heading to the North peak & true summit.

We met some guys visiting from Minnesota which was awesome & I squeezed my way through the chimney but had to take off my pack in order to get through. Magnus & Aibert took the easier one to get through on the left. Near the summit there is a leap of faith which was fun to jump across.

There is a short traverse to make the Center peak and some moderate scrambling similar to the North peak. We descended into a gully to traverse over to the South peak which was loose but not too bad.

There is a short scrambling section that leads to a tunnel which was one of the best features of the day on the mountain. A tricky rock to scramble up then we followed ledges to scramble up to the top. Upon reaching the top we chatted with Ben and had ourselves a nice break while soaking in the views.

The descent down to the cory pass trail was straightforward between the South & Center peaks. We made fairly quick time getting back to the fireside parking lot to complete the trip. Thanks guys for another stellar day in the mountains. Note that the North & Center peak are rated Moderate while the South is Difficult. First song is Alone Time by Explosions in The Sky.
