To become a Registered Nurse in New York State, one must have passed the national registration exam known as NCLEX-RN (National Council Licensure Examination - for Registered Nurses) and have completed all other requirements set forth by NYSED (New York State Education Department) under the guidelines of New York’s state law.
NCLEX-RN is the official national registration exam for aspiring soon to be registered nurses in the United States, Canada & Australia developed by NCSBN (National Council of State Boards of Nursing), an independent not-for-profit organization with headquarters located in Chicago, Illinois, USA.
