This is a Dutch radio recording in very fine sound of one of Bella Davidovich's Chopin recitals in Amsterdam, There were 4 in a row ! Chopin and Schumann were some of her favorite composers. The Amsterdam public was very fond of this pianist.
Her style of pianoplaying was elegant, poetic, beautiful legato playing with a singing quality. Thank you Mme Davidovich for so much beauty !!!
Decca reissued her Philips recordings, made in the 70's and 80's in the series Eloquence.On the box is a quote of the Russian pianist Lazar Berman : She is Russia's greatest female pianist. Why is everybody writing about me ? Why don't you write about Bella Davidovich ? She is more interesting that me. She is superb !
