September is Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) Awareness Month. This endocrine disorder is actually very common, effecting 5-10% of child-bearing women, but is often misdiagnosed. It can cause a host of different symptoms including: irregular menstrual periods, abnormal hair growth, weight gain, acne, and is the leading cause of infertility.
