A year ago, I filmed and nearly finished editing a process video for YouTube, pouring many hours into it. But I found myself road-blocked by the prospect of creating a voice-over. It wasn’t turning out how I would have liked, leading me to abandon the project altogether.
In the spirit of doing things imperfectly, I picked up the video from where I had left off almost a year later and decided to simplify. I chose to use captions instead of a voice-over, and it helped me get the job done. I am proud of myself for getting over the hurdle of creating that very first video. And now, I am energized to keep making videos and look forward to improving and learning new skills.

✧ LED Light Box: Gaomon
✧ Tape: Cantech Painter’s Tape
✧ Pencil: Prismacolor “Col-Erase” Pencil (Carmine)
✧ Paper: Arches Hot Press Watercolour Paper
✧ Gouache: Holbein and M.Graham
✧ Brushes: Larger square brushes are from Winsor & Newton + Smaller brushes are from Michael’s Craft Store
