ran a show and the shit was tight
you took cash at the end of the night
nothing major bit over a grand
covered costs paid for the bands

you went ghost for a month or two
heard you overseas but no one knew
sorted the bands from my own pocket
you said you paid but I don’t got it

three years, twenty ‘what ups’ later
I know I’m never gonna see that paper
you still living large on my insta feed
and I got one less rat trying to eat off me

gear grew legs walked out the back door
an old strat that I played for years
while I was at the bar getting paid in beer

came back to at home
housemates that dodged bills like Al Capone
buying rounds in the first week
rents then its hide and seek

rats in the industry? sure
nah that guy don’t work here no more
your moneys gone but we need our cut
here’s that invoice the needs fixing up

too many rats to mention
feels like my whole life was a rat convention
post rat disorder P.T.R.D.
why I still can’t trust no one else but me

this is a public service announcement
there is an outbreak of rats in the city

for real I pity the rat class
