'Land of Hope and Glory' is a British patriotic anthem written in 1902 by Arthur Benson, with the music being composed by Edward Elgar in 1901. The song's lyrics about the ever expanding glory of the United Kingdom quickly made it rise to becoming one of the most popular patriotic songs alongside ‘Rule Britannia’ and the like. During the Second World War it had similar fame, being sung by stars like Vera Lynn to boost morale.
This recording was done by Jeanette MacDonald in 1941.
