葫蘆絲在中國有千年的歷史，但被人們熟知還是近20年的事，可以說是即古老又年輕，2000年由我國傣族葫蘆絲演奏家哏德全先生髮行了第一張專輯。由於他迷人的音色，又加是易學易帶等諸多優點，一下風迷全球，至此中國葫蘆絲如雨後春筍，由雲南民間走進了千家萬戶。現在機場、超市、飯店等都能聽到葫蘆絲甜美的聲音。
Cucurbit flute has a thousand years of history in China, but it is known for near 20 years. So it can be said that it is old yet young. In 2000, the first album was released by Mr. Zhai Dequan, a Chinese cucurbit flute player. Because of its fascinating sound, and the advantages of easy to learn and carry, cucurbit flute became popular in the world,. It has sprung up all over China. The Yunnan folks have entered into tens of thousands of households. The sweet sound of cucurbit flute can be heard now in the airport, supermarkets, restaurants, etc.
