I had the opportunity to lead a great squad of Warriors through an FTX in the fall of 2018.
We conducted a 0500 am raid on an enemy communications node. Consisting of a M151 Mutt with communications equipment. Guarded by a Blufor Squad.
We achieved our goal of placing simulated C4 on the MUTT for demolition.
The intelligence we gathered on enemy locations the previous 24 hours contributed greatly to our patrols success.
We lost one patrol member during the placement of the simulated C4.
To get into place to conduct this raid, our patrol woke at 0300 in our Patrol base to move 1300 meters in the dark. Through forest using only night vision & natural loom.
I can't say enough how proud I am of the patrol, some of whom had only begun training together 4 days earlier!
