The latest Te Ahu a Turanga: Manawatū Tararua Highway flyover shows just how close the highway is to completion. In the March 2025 edition, construction manager Mike Cassaidy talks about how almost all of the main alignment is now covered in asphalt, with the crews now focusing on paving the final surface layer. You will also see the teams working to connect the roundabouts at each end to the existing roads, and some of the finishing touches to the major structures. The highway remains on track for opening to traffic in mid-2025.
