Rational Basis - All The Cats Demo Tape (1983 - Track 2)

Since I uploaded some All The Cats material to both my old blog "Left and to the Back" and also here on YouTube, a reader called Chris Gray stumbled on the material and told me he had a copy of the band's 1983 demo tape, and would I be interested in hearing it?

Here it is, file by file, in its entirety. The tape obviously isn't in perfect condition after all this time so its possible you may hear fluttering in the sound, particularly on the opening track.

Chris also told me: "It was recorded at Pier House Studios in Edinburgh on the 8th and 9th November 1983. It was produced by Peter Haigh and the band.

I myself recorded there with a couple of bands around the same time (1983, 1984) and knew Peter Haigh. It was his "one man" business and he had a modest 4-track system. It was popular with many Edinburgh bands mainly because it was the cheapest place around to make a demo. I think it's still going although I have no idea if Pete is still running it or involved at all."

So there you go. I hope this is of interest to some of you, and of course, if you're a member of the group and would rather this wasn't available to the public, please do just drop me a line and I'll take it down.
