2004 was a different time in MLS.
There were less teams, more physicality, and a different playoff structure. But ask anyone who followed the league at that time, and they'll point to November 6, 2004 - an Eastern Conference Championship that had it all.
The game featured D.C. United hosting the New England Revolution at RFK Stadium. Both teams were hitting their stride heading into playoffs, and had a talented mix of young players and veterans. Names like Clint Dempsey, Taylor Twellman, Matt Reis, as well as Jaime Moreno, Nick Rimando, and Freddy Adu.
