Ninja ZX6R Air Filter Service | BMC Filter Cleaning Caution & Complete Process

In today’s video, I’m cleaning the Air Filter of my Kawasaki ZX-6R, and showing the complete step-by-step process from removing the fairings, accessing the airbox, cleaning the filter, drying it properly, and reinstalling it safely.
I’m using a BMC High-Performance Air Filter, so I’ve included important cautions and safety tips you must follow to avoid damaging your filter or engine.
Whether you ride a Ninja ZX6R or any super sport, this DIY air filter cleaning tutorial will help you keep your bike running smoother, cooler, and more responsive.

⚠️ Important Caution for BMC Air Filters

Please read these safety notes carefully:
1️⃣ Do NOT use petrol, diesel, kerosene, or strong chemicals. These can damage the cotton filter material and reduce performance.

2️⃣ Only use BMC-approved cleaning kit or mild soap solution
BMC filters are cotton-based and require specific cleaning fluid + oiling kit.
Using wrong cleaners will void warranty and reduce filtration.

3️⃣ Do NOT blow compressed air directly
High-pressure air can create holes in the cotton layers.
If needed, use very low pressure from a distance.

4️⃣ Never clean using high-pressure water
Always rinse gently from inside to outside direction.

5️⃣ Let the filter dry naturally
Do NOT use:
❌ Hair dryer
❌ Heat gun
❌ Direct sunlight
These can shrink the cotton or damage the glue.

6️⃣ Apply only the recommended amount of BMC filter oil
Over-oiling can choke the airflow.
Under-oiling reduces dust filtration.

7️⃣ Ensure the filter is fully dry before reinstalling
Moisture inside can cause engine hesitation or stalling
