A Maoist caucus in the Democratic Socialists of America brought a lot of negative attention to the organization. It is wrong to judge the DSA by their most extremist elements. Yet it's also wrong to act as though this tendency toward bloothirsty LARP is restricted to the Liberation Caucus. It is a sickness that reaches far beyond that. Could it be because if you can excuse acts of violence, it's easier to sell your goal of violent revolution? The DSA needs to decide what sort of organization it wants to be. May the level-headed win out so the left can actually win in the US.
