This is Yoroi Station on the San'in Main Line in Kami-cho, Hyogo Prefecture.
It is located east of Amarube Station, which I introduced last time.
A train bound for Kinosaki Onsen had just arrived from the Amarube area.
This area is single-track and unelectrified, so diesel trains run on it.

This was my first time visiting, and strangely, I felt a strong sense of nostalgia.

The San'in Main Line runs from Kyoto Station through the San'in region along the Sea of Japan, including Hyogo, Tottori, and Shimane prefectures, to Hatabu Station in Shimonoseki City, Yamaguchi Prefecture.
The San'in Main Line is 679 km long, and Yoroi Station is 185 km from Kyoto Station. There are 161 stations in total, and Yoroi Station is the 68th station from Kyoto Station.

Yoroi Station is a popular unmanned station known as "the station overlooking the sea," and was the location for a 2001 JR commercial poster.
It has also been used as a filming location for the NHK morning drama series "Futari-kko" and the TBS drama "Suna no Utsuwa."
It is also the setting for Miyamoto Teru's novel "Kaigan Ressha."
The cemetery overlooking the sea was apparently used as a filming location for the movie "Yakuza Wives."

Yoroi Fishing Port has long thrived as a natural harbor, and at its peak, large catches of mackerel were apparently landed here.

This is the remains of an incline (an inclined railway for transporting fish) built in 1951. It was apparently in use until 1981.
Seafood landed at Yoroi Fishing Port was apparently hauled up 40 meters above by the incline to Yoroi Station.
These seafood were then transferred to freight trains at Yoroi Station and shipped towards Kyoto on the Sanin Main Line.
