Bede or Badia and Boid.
The people of this tribe used to live in boats at one time. They used to travel in groups. There is still a tendency among the people of this tribe to travel in groups among the Bede tribe. On the other hand, the people of the Boid community have been living permanently for a long time. Until 1995, the Boid community located near the Kawraid Rail Bridge in Sreepur Upazila of Gazipur district used to live in boats. But their boats were permanently anchored in the river.
My childhood classmate Sohel, the son of this Boid tribe, studied with me in Kawraid No. 1 Government Primary School up to the fifth grade. After 1995, they built a permanent home there at a famous place called Kalibari on the banks of the river.
Similarly, the permanent residence of this Boid tribe is located next to Barmi Bazar in Sreepur Upazila of Gazipur district.
The Bede community and Boid community have permanent residence in many districts of Bangladesh.

Note: The people of the Bede community show snake games and sell amulets by blowing brooms.
The people of the Boid community sell glass items, stolen lace ribbons in villages and towns.
There were two differences between them in terms of work. But in the past, they lived in boats and traveled in groups.
According to my current knowledge, many of the Boid community living in this Kawraid union still travel around the villages and sell glass plates, bowls, dinner sets. Many are engaged in different jobs, such as fishing and mechanical work.
One important thing cannot be left out. It has been a long time since I have seen my childhood classmate Sohel. I have come to know from sources in this area that he has married in another area and is living permanently. He has become a city dweller.

বেদে বা বাদিয়া ও বোইদ।
এই সম্পদের মানুষেরা একটা সময় নৌকায় বসবাস করত। তারা দলবদ্ধ হয়ে ঘুরে বেড়াত। এখনো এই সম্পদের মানুষদের মাঝে দলবদ্ধ হয়ে ঘুরে বেড়ানোর প্রবণতা রয়েছে বেদে সম্পদের মাঝে। পক্ষান্তরে বোইদ সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষেরা স্থায়ী বসবাস করছে দীর্ঘদিন যাবৎ। ১৯৯৫ সাল পর্যন্ত গাজীপুর জেলার শ্রীপুর উপজেলার কাওরাইদ রেল ব্রিজ সংলগ্ন যে বোইদ সম্প্রদায় রয়েছে তারা নৌকায় বসবাস করত। কিন্তু তাদের নৌকা ছিল স্থায়ীভাবে নদীতে নোঙ্গর করানো করানো।
আমার বাল্যকালের সহপাঠী সোহেল এই বোইদ সম্পদের ছেলে সে কাওরাইদ ১ নং সরকারি প্রাথমিক বিদ্যালয় আমার সাথে পঞ্চম শ্রেণী পর্যন্ত পড়াশোনা করেছে। ১৯৯৫ সালের পরে তারা নদীর কিনারায় কালীবাড়ি নামে বিখ্যাত একটি স্থান সেখানে স্থায়ীভাবে বসত বাড়ি করেছে।
ঠিক তদ্রুপ গাজীপুর জেলার শ্রীপুর উপজেলার বরমী বাজারের পাশে রয়েছে এই বোইদ সম্পদের স্থায়ী বসবাস।
বাংলাদেশের অনেক জেলায় বেদে সম্প্রদায়ের, বোইদ সম্প্রদায়ের স্থায়ী বসবাস রয়েছে।

বিঃদ্রঃ বেদে সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষেরা সাপ খেলা দেখায় ঝাড়ফুঁক করে করি তাবিজ বিক্রি করে।
বোইদ সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষেরা কাঁচের জিনিসপত্র, চুরি লেইজ ফিতা গ্রামগঞ্জে ঘুরে ঘুরে বিক্রি করে।
কর্মের দিক দিয়ে দুটি ব্যবধান ছিল তাদের মাঝে। কিন্তু তারা পূর্বের সময়গুলোতে নৌকায় বসবাস করত দলবদ্ধ হয়ে ঘুরে বেড়াতো।
আমার বর্তমান জানামতে এই কাওরাইদ ইউনিয়নে অবস্থানরত বোইদ সম্প্রদায়ের যারা আছে এখনও তারা অনেকেই গ্রামগঞ্জে ঘুরে ঘুরে কাঁচের তৈরি থালি বাটি ডিনার সেট এগুলো বিক্রি করে থাকে। অনেকে আছে ভিন্ন আশায় নিয়োজিত মাছ ধরা ম্যাকানিক কাজ করার কাজে নিয়োজিত।
একটি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কথা না বললেই নয়। দীর্ঘদিন হয়ে যায় আমার বাল্যকালের সহপাঠী বন্ধু সোহেল তাকে দেখতে পাচ্ছি না এই এলাকায় তথ্যসূত্র জানলাম সে অন্য এলাকায় বিয়ে-শাদী করে স্থায়ী বসবাস করছে সহরমুখি হয়েছে সে।
