Noticed an increasing gasoline smell and while there were no obvious leaks, eventually noticed a slight fogging occurring on the top part of the sensor as soon as the engine started.
Parts are available from different vendors online but I ended-up calling local Volvo dealer. They didn't have it in stock but were able to get there the next day at the same cost as online.
Replacement is straight forward.
1. Find your Fuel Pump fuse. The user manual will have your vehicle-specific diagram. In my case it was inside fuse box "B" under the glove compartment. The fuse box is protected with a plastic cover. Pull it from the bottom edge and it'll come out.
2. Locate the fuse. In my vehicle it is in the space #13 (yellow 20 AMP). Pull the fuse out to remove it. If you can't grasp it with your fingers, you may try with small thin-nose pliers. Use them to pull - try not to squeeze too hard.
3. Start the engine to burn the gasoline already in the system, to prevent spills due to pressure. It'll take just a few seconds and your engine will stall.
4. Nonetheless put some rug under the sensor in case there's some residual gas in the line.
5. Disconnect sensor wires. There's a small clip that prevents connector from sliding off. I think you can press on the opposite side to lift the tiny latch before sliding the connector. I sued a small flat screwdriver to pry that latch while wiggling the connector until it came off. It's plastic and delicate, so be careful.
5. Once the wires are off, remove the sensor. Push the blue clips on both sides of the of the sensor (see original part number) to unlock it.
6. Carefully and slowly pull the lines out of the sensor.
7, Once the sensor is out plug the new one in. Push it firmly until you hear clicks, indicating it's secured. Tug on pipe to ensure it's holding in place and won't just slide out.
8. Carefully insert the fuse base into its slot. Firmly push it with your finder all the way in.
9. Replace the cover by first inserting the tap at the top of the cover then pressing the bottom until it clicks.
10. Start the engine and check newly installed sensor for leakage. If it does - make sure the lines are properly connected.
In my case the entire process took less then 5 minutes.
