Greetings All,
One of the things you'll face when you start messing with 60 year old Daisy BB guns is the fact there are no NOS parts left anywhere on planet Earth. So when you run into problems you'll either have to be able to bring the original part back to some sort of serviceability or fabricate a replacement.
I've built billet triggers and levers for some of the classic Daisy's I've restomoded but have not tried my hand at fabricating a plunger yet. So far it seems that straightening out the bent legs, heat treating and tempering them brings them back to a slightly better than new condition and if you don't go gonzo on heavier springs they do their job quite nicely.
This video covers techniques you can use to recover a bent leg plunger, particularly the older 90 degree models, and a follow on video will be posted about methods I use to heat treat and temper these older units if they require this repair.
Thanks for watching Thanks for watching!
