1973 WHeel Horse Fuel pump rebuild

What's going on everybody Rob here with a little video on this 1973 wheel horse lawn tractor. I have too much fuel going into the engine chamber of this 1973 wheel horse lawn tractor. I don't know or didn't know if the fuel pump was leaking into the engine so I ordered the fuel pump the fuel pump rebuild kit so I can rebuild this 1973 wheel horse lawn tractor fuel pump. I was surprised with the new fuel pump rebuild kit on how it came in house sturdy it was. There were three pieces of rubber instead of the one old piece of rubber that was there. I don't believe this was the problem although now I know I have a brand-new rebuild fuel pump. I am believing I have to put the fuel pressure regulator between the fuel pump and the carburetor. I bought the universal fuel pump rebuild kit. But it did not go on airtex fuel pump. I mean air text fuel pump. This 1973 wheel horse had airtex fuel pump on it. It had a different diaphragm connector.The diaphragm connector it had did not match up to the actual air text wheel horse fuel pump. I had to use a grinder to grind down the connector of the new diaphragm to fit the air text fuel pump. After I granted it down it worked perfectly. I feel this new rebuild kit is a lot sturdier than old fuel pump kit it had on it as I mentioned I have to purchase the fuel pressure regulator to find out how much fuel pressure I need going from the 1973 wheel horse fuel pump to the carburetor. Hopefully this helps you a little bit along your wheel horse tractor.
