I have a few questions I’d like to ask about weatherstripping and fitting the windscreen to my 1953 Austin Sheerline. Any help that anyone can provide would be much appreciated:
1.) What size and thread type are the eight screws that hold the two halves of the windscreen together?
2.) the parts manual mentions a rubber pad underneath the metal plates holding the windscreen halves together, but those were not present when it came out. Does anyone have details?
3.) The parts manual calls for 14 screws and two bolts to hold the windscreen to the car. Can anyone confirm the size and thread for these?
4.) I presume the two bolts go on the outside of the frame, due to the extreme difficulty in getting a screwdriver into those locations. Is that correct?
5.) what type of weatherstripping should be on the doors, and where should it be placed?
6.) What does the interior trim around the windscreen look like?
7.) Where should welting be installed between panels in the front?
Many thanks for any input you can provide in these areas!
Tom
PS: I am still looking for a monogram (Flying ‘A’ hood ornament) and the plinth it sits on for this car. The one it came with has been poorly modified. If you know where I could find one, please let me know.
