Episode 02 of Solo at 65 - The Munda Biddi Journey.
Day two on the Munda Biddi Trail, riding from Carinya Hut to Wungong Hut - and I was still finding my feet. The single-track remained challenging, the climbs relentless, and confidence was slow to build.
Riding solo meant there was no one beside me when motivation dipped. There were moments of self-doubt, a few quiet tears off camera, and a growing awareness of just how demanding these early days would be. I also encountered my first snake on the trail and walked several steep switchbacks.
Despite arriving tired, the day ended on a high with a warm welcome at the hut from fellow riders - a reminder that their encouragement would become an important part of this journey.
These first days are raw and difficult, but they lay the foundation for what’s still to come.
