Watch how I apply stains and a variety of underglazes and stroke and coat to my sea turtle jar, now a vase. hahaha. You'll learn how I layer underglazes and use stain to add depth and interest to a fully carved vase.
Stain wash used: Jill's Brown Patina Wash (recipe below)
Underglazes used: Amaco and Speedball and
Stroke and Coat used: Mayco ( https://amzn.to/4142aDw )
Underglaze (Semi-moist palette) used: Amaco ( https://amzn.to/4aXBTeo )
Glazes used: Penguin Clear ( https://amzn.to/3EMiv81 ) and Laguna Lido Satin
Clay used: Laguna WC-401 B-Mix 5 C/5
Cone used: Bisque to 05, Final fire to 5
Stain used in Video: Jill's Brown Patina Wash
2 T Red Iron Oxide
1 T Yellow Ochre
1 T Rutile
4 and 1/3 T GB Substitute
1 t Cobalt Carb
*mix with water to the consistency of skim milk. Use gloves and respirator when making wash.
