Being alone in the mountains or nature can be really really good for us, for the body and mind. You know, the mountain don't have any opinions about right or wrong, good or bad, no opinions at all about you or anything, it doesn't have any expectations, it doesn't want, like, dislike, evaluate, discriminate. It adds nothing of the mind-made stuff that we humans do in our thinking. That is where all our troubles and suffering exists. The mountain is just the mountain. So being in nature or in the mountains is a good place for letting the mind fall to rest, letting go of our thinking-dream-worlds go and returning to reality as it is, before the thinking mind. People living close to nature is generally less stressed than people living in crowded places, because they are not constantly surrounded by and participating in that "mind-noise" that simply comes from staying in crowded places. Whatever "trouble" or thinking-activity that we bring to the mountain, is only whatever we ourselves bring there. The mountain brings nothing, and staying there for a period of time, or even just in your afternoon hike in the forest, opens up for the mind to fall to rest, and allow us to reconnect with moment, just as it is, our true nature.
