Located in West Virginia, Catlettsburg Cavern #2 is the first hard rock storage built in the United States in almost 30 years. On behalf of Marathon Petroleum, Parsons Brinckerhoff designed and constructed the cavern which is 150 meters deep and includes almost 5 kilometers of tunnels. Excavation of the tunnel was completed in early 2012.
