This video demonstrates how to build a jig that enables you to cut off the corners of a woodturning blank and still retain it's balance. Removing the corners before rounding the stock speeds up the rounding off process, reduces the need to sharpen cutting tools as often, and reduces the amount of waste in the form of shavings that must be cleaned up.
