Banteay srei is one of angkor religious edifices built since 967 by the priest Yajñavaraha, the Guru of King Jayavarman V. With the quality of pink sandstone, Banteay srei is appreciated as a jewelry of Khmer art. The name Srei or Srey means Happiness or the prosperity; Banteay means citadel which was transformed from Pura or town by the Sanskrit word.
