BLONDIE - Sunday Girl

Part pop-punk, part '60s influenced rock 'n' roll, Parallel Lines is truly one of the greatest albums of all-time. Blondie had entered the European consciousness earlier in 1978 with a cover of Neil Levenson's 'Denis', but it was here that they became international superstars.

Far from just a pretty face, Debbie Harry worked with Chris Stein to craft some of the most memorable hits of the decade, from the infectious power pop of 'Sunday Girl' and 'One Way or Another' to the new wave-tinged classic rock of 'Picture This' and the disco inspired 'Heart of Glass'. They also made a cover their own, in the frenetic immediacy of the Nerves' 'Hanging on the Telephone'.

Blondie went on to have several more terrific hits over the next three years, but this is the album that everyone remembers, indeed that everyone should own.
