Passat 5.5 installing coilovers and lowering it to MAX

In this detailed tutorial, I demonstrate the installation of coilovers suspension (gewinde) on a Passat B5.5 station wagon. I purchased new coilovers suspension and decided to lower my car by installing them. Throughout the video, I show the entire process step-by-step, including the removal of the front and rear dampers and springs, as well as the preparation and installation of the coilovers.

After completing the installation, I performed initial adjustments by setting the nuts to the lowest level to see how much I could lower the vehicle. It looked good, but it wasn’t drivable at that height. I then adjusted the nuts, raising the front by about 8cm and the rear by 2cm. The result was better, but I still want to raise the car a bit more — perhaps another 2cm in the front and 1cm in the rear.

For tools, I used basic hand tools — no power tools. My toolkit included Gedore wrenches ranging from 10mm to 19mm, along with hammers, WD-40, a wire brush, and a small jack.
