This is the most famous song composed by John W. Green and dates from 1930. It was originally written for musical comedy star Gertrude Lawrence. Robert Armbruster was a concert pianist who branched out into composing and conducting for radio, television and films. In the 1920s he recorded many piano rolls for the Duo-Art reproducing piano and turned out many classical and salon-type performances. In the 1960s Armbruster was head of the music department at MGM Studios. The piano roll was re-cut by the Blues Tone Music Rolls Company (Robert DeLand). The piano roll was originally released in December of 1930 on Welte-Mignon roll 75497.
