Sweet, fresh blood orange juice is given a little kick in the pants with the addition of vodka, lime juice, ginger beer, and prosecco.
Y'all know I love blood oranges.
After all, when my dad's trees produce them by the truckload, I've got to figure out lots of recipes to make with them (although my kids are perfectly happy drinking the blood orange juice just how it is). So of all the blood orange recipes I've made, I've never made a blood orange cocktail. Weird, right?
So that brings us here. This Blood Orange Prosecco Mule has it all - the zing of the ginger beer, the bubbles of the prosecco, and the refreshment of the mint. So forget all of those boring vodka cocktails or preosecco cocktails, this blood orange cocktail is the drink to have this summer!
Blood Orange Prosecco Mule Recipe
Makes 1 drink
Time: 5 minutes
Ingredients
2 ounces blood orange juice
1 ounce lime juice
1 ounce vodka
2 ounces ginger beer
chilled prosecco, for topping
mint, for garnish
Instructions
In a glass, combine the blood orange juice, lime juice and vodka.
Add the ginger beer and top with the champagne.
Garnish with blood orange slices and fresh mint. Drink!
