Her latest scam was a live stream with a 9-year-old Syrian girl who has Down syndrome. The girl was sitting next to her, and her real name is Chantal Sarault, but she also uses her Muslim name, Maryam. She recounted how the family had to pull the girl out of school because the cost of schooling for children with Down syndrome is $1,000 USD per year. She then claimed that the $1,000 was not only for school fees but also included clothes and transportation to school. She asked viewers to send Super Chats and made the little girl act like a circus performer, repeatedly asking her to say thank you to those who sent Super Chats. She exploited this child with special needs. She also asked people to donate directly to her PayPal account. She promised to show receipts for all donations and also promised a video showing her and her Syrian husband, Salah Al-Rafai, delivering the money to the girl’s family. In the following days, she refused to show any receipts, which is her usual behavior in such scams—she promises them but never shows them. She comes up with various excuses for not showing them, and if she did show a school receipt proving the money was paid, she claimed people would look up the school, which wouldn’t be safe for the girl. Yet, no one from the community would do that to the girl.

During the live stream, when the girl was sitting next to her, she wasn’t concerned about her safety, even when there was a pedophile in the chat repeatedly asking if Foodie Beauty could lift the girl’s shirt because he was masturbating to the stream. This person was not blocked and repeated the request multiple times.

A few days after this live stream, she suddenly traveled to Qatar, ordered room service all day, ate a lot of expensive food, and claimed they raised about $1,100 USD, all of which was given to the girl’s family. It’s clear that the money was used for her trip to Qatar, the hotel, and the food there.

She was in Syria for only a month, but she is morbidly obese, and it was nearly impossible for her to live there without air conditioning and with electricity outages for several hours a day. In Qatar, she also complained about all the social gatherings she had to attend in Syria; people were constantly visiting her, which was exhausting for her. She needed 24-hour electricity, air conditioning, and food she preferred, like fast food that isn’t available in Syria, and she wanted to be alone and take a break.

While she was away, her husband Salah, who came to Syria from Kuwait a few weeks before her arrival, also had to leave Kuwait after a similar scam where they stole a kitten from a park and asked for donations, leading to an investigation in Kuwait, after which they fled and bought a new car in Syria.

It’s clear that the money she claimed was for the girl, which may have been more than $1,100, went toward her vacation and car. They are also currently renovating Salah’s family home, so they needed money for various things, and without showing receipts, it’s obvious the girl’s family received nothing. This is not the first time she has done this, and the Syrian people should be aware of this and stay away from her and her husband, especially protecting their children and not allowing them near her.
