This massive ship was turned into a hospital and served families with children but didnt have any health insurance and also gave free checkups to the homeless people living in NYC.
in 2001 when the twin towers fell most of the victims, firefighters, and police where rushed to this floating hospital for medical care. but in 2003 mayor bloomberg decided to no longer fund the floating hospital and it now sits abandoned on the river.
