Crimson Peaks is a 2015 film directed by Guillermo del Toro and starring Mia Wasikowska, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Charlie Hunnam, Jim Beaves, and Doug Jones. The film takes place mainly in 1901 and tells the tale of a young, aspiring writer named Edith Cushing who is seduced by and marries the mysterious Sir Thomas Sharpe shortly after the violent death of her father.
Shortly after the wedding, Edith travels to the ancestral home of the Sharpe's, Allendale Hall, colloquially known as Crimson Peak.
Once at Allendale Hall, Edith has to unravel the terrifying mystery of her husbands past, as well as that of his icy sister Lucille.
